General Information

Breakdowns:

Most industrial engines break down through lack of maintainance, as in the construction industry the (Operator of the Machine) is not neccessarily the owner of the machine.

Maintainance

With Proper Maintainance, half of all breakdowns can be avoided.

Any Industrial Engine will run better if it has oil that is changed regulary, a good air intake, and a steady flow of fuel. This can be done by anyone with little knowledge of engines, purchase the parts from (enquiries@limel.co.uk) and we shall be happy to guide you through the installation of the parts.

( Click link above and we will arrange delivery direct to you).

OIL+AIR+Fuel = HAPPY RUNNING ENGINE.

Diesel Engines

Diesel engines require compression to run properly and are more prone to carbonisation, in this case your engine may require a Decoke, this entails removing carbon deposits from the cylinder head, valves and exhaust ports, and is best done by professionals.

The most common failure in a diesel engine is fuel starvation, caused by blocked filters or failure of the Injection pump or the injectors which deliver the fuel to the cylinders. Limel can recondition pumps and injectors and the turnover is normally 3 to 5 working days. In extreme cases lack of compression is caused by piston ring wear and rings are best replaced by professionals, this would need a top end engine overhaul which would include a decoke.

Petrol Engines

Petrol engines need fuel and a spark to keep them running, but less compression, so it is vital that the spark plug be changed at servicable intervals. The engine may also require a decoke.

Marine Engines

Marine engines can be set up in a variety of ways, direct cooling, indirect cooling etc. Servicing of a marine engine is the same as above but may also need additional work regarding the cooling system. The founder of Limel Engines (now retired ) is still on hand fo professional advice and can be contacted through our contact Link. enquiries@limel.co.uk
